Adam Toennies, Head Coach 13s White

Hello CC Elite volleyball! I am very excited to be joining the Elite family this club season. I am a big fan of watching youngsters grow, not only in their knowledge of the game of volleyball and athleticism but, also learning a little about life and what it takes to “make it”. I try to leverage coaching to give my teams the best leg up on the court and off.
A little bit about me... I am married to Melanie and have three kids of my own and two step children who I love like they’re my own. I am nearing my 11th year at Red-E-Mix in Columbia as a plant manager. My volleyball “career” began when I was about 19, as a substitute player on a sand league in Highland. From there, I consistently played in indoor YMCA leagues as well as summer sand leagues for many years.
I began coaching in 2010 as an assistant to Chad Rakers’ C4 Crush 14’s team. In 2011, I coached under Fred Rakers for the C4 12’s team. The following year, Fred and I reversed roles as I took on my first head coaching job as the C4 Crush 12’s coach.
After C4 merged with SWI Crush, I stayed on for a few more years with the program. In 2014 I took on the freshman head coach position at Mater Dei until I turned it over after four years. Since then, I have taken a short hiatus from the game. I missed, so much, being a part of the game of volleyball and, as luck would have it, this position came available and I couldn’t be more excited about getting back in the gym!
I can’t wait to see what this season has in store for me and the team!

Karen Roth, Head Coach 15s

Hello – I am a former player for Salem Community High School, Kaskaskia College and also played on the men's club team while at SIU.  While in high school and college, I was a 6 rotation player as OH and then moved to setter while playing on the men's club team. At Kaskaskia College, I earned all GRAC honors and our team is in the Hall of Fame there. I am employed by Bank of America for 10 years now as a Project Consultant for their Global Technology Operations group.  I am fortunate to hold this position while working from my home in Aviston.

I began coaching as a teaching asst at Collinsville Jr High many years ago which led to my first club coaching position with 12's in St. Charles, MO.  I also continued playing well into adulthood – finally hanging up my sneakers at 7mos pregnant.  Once I resumed coaching, I coached various teams from ages 14-17 for Clinton County Club Crush, SWI Crush and was also Head Coach for Salem High School.   I have been fortunate to coach some very talented young players from the Metro-East including teams that have participated in Open division and been very competitive!

About 5 years ago, my kids' schedules became incompatible with mine, so I have been watching from the sidelines.  I am ready to return to the court and look forward to getting to know your young athletes!
